Ingredients of a Search Engine Friendly Site We live in a day and age where people use search engines on a daily basis to find information, products or services. Website owners who offer these things want to be found in the number one spot for a particular keyword phrase or at least on the first page of the results. In order to obtain these prized positions, the engines have to make the decision that your site deserves that prestigious place. As website owners, how do we help the search engines come to this conclusion? While there are many pieces of the puzzle to accomplish this, one of the foundational things that can be done is to make sure your site is 'search engine friendly.' RoomSaver.com is placing among the top search results on the five major search engines. And travelers love our site - there are no wordy descriptions, repetitive key phrases or lack of graphics on RoomSaver.com. Instead RoomSaver.com is concerned with bringing travelers to your hotels. In doing so, we offer travelers the ability to explore a first-rate site while hunting down a great hotel deal for their next trip. Ask your sales rep to tell you more about RoomSaver.com and our use of search engines. View entire article by David Wallace > What's Going on at RoomSaver.com? People Aged 55 and Up Drive U.S. Web Growth Young people largely drove the early stages of Internet growth in the U.S. But in the last four years, most new growth in Web adoption came from people aged 55 and up, according to a survey conducted by International Demographics. 'A population bulge of baby boomers nearing retirement age is increasingly going online, opening up new opportunities for online marketers and advertisers,' said Robert Jordan, president of International Demographics. 'The recent growth in Internet users indicates the Internet is maturing, in that it is becoming more democratic in its representation of all age groups,' Jordan said. 'Most of the new growth is coming from older age groups, including the aging Baby Boomer demographic. WHen you consider the huge purchasing power of this group, which continues to buy everything, including the most expensive products, there is a huge opportunity for e-commerce and e-marketing.' Great news for RoomSaver.com hotels since the majority of RoomSaver.com visitors each month is represented by age 45-65. Last month 60% of RoomSaver.com visitors were age 45-65 with the substantial buying power of this age group, we are filling your rooms! The increase far outpaced growth in use of the Internet to plan travel and growth in use of the Internet more generally. 'The Internet has put consumers in control of their travel plans and they like it,' remarked the Travel Industry Association (TIA) Senior Vice President of Research & Technology, Dr. Suzanne Cook. The report found that 82% of online travel bookers purchased airline tickets online in the past year, up from 75% in 2003. And 67% made hotel reservations online.'
