Business Travelers Keep Online Travel Sites Busy
Almost three-quarters of business travelers prefer to book their travel online, according to Accenture.

Business travelers are doing more of their booking online. In 2003, 57% said they preferred to book online. Two years later, the figure has risen to 71%. Meanwhile, those who prefer using a travel agent, either on the phone or in person, has fallen from 39% to 24%.

A survey by Keynote Systems conducted in late 2004 had similar findings, though use of offline channels was lower. Fully 40% of US business travelers used an online travel agency, while 21% used a supplier Web site (an airline or hotel site), 18% used a corporate travel provider and 12% booked offline.

RoomSaver.com has the edge on other travel websites ? we?re not only booking these business travelers for you online, but we are also providing them with toll-free numbers to book your rooms over the phone.

Grab this excellent source of weekday business by showcasing your property in a Featured Premium or Premium listing on RoomSaver.com. Don?t forget to highlight any business travel features your hotel provides!

Travel Trends: More and More Seniors Online
In 2000, the Pew Internet and American Life Project found that only 15% of Americans 65 or older reported access to the Internet. Last year that number had risen to 22%. And in a phone survey conducted in January of this year, 26% of Americans age 65 and over reported having Internet access.

In a study released early this year, the Kaiser Family Foundation compared activities of 65+ seniors with the group of seniors right behind them, and found that both groups were active online.

As the population ages, however, more people who regularly used the Internet at work are retiring and the over-65 set will probably have higher rates of connectivity and report higher rates of 'high trust' activities.

Furthermore, the Pew study found that once seniors get online, they are just as enthusiastic as younger users. Wired seniors are as keen as younger users to take advantage of the major activities that define online life ? such as e-mail and the use of search engines to answer a specific question. In addition, they are as likely as younger users to go online on a typical day.
