An E-mail Newsletter to Keep RoomSaver.com Customers Informed

Results: Advanced Reservations or Walk-in? In last month's edition of the Traveler's Tribune, we asked 100,000 of our Travel Club members, 'how far in advance do you typically reserve your lodging arrangements?' We got an overwhelming number of responses from our devoted Travel Club members! Thirty-one percent of respondents prefer to reserve lodging weeks in advance. Rated second, with 26 percent, were those who prefer to 'wing it' and make their reservations upon arrival at the hotel, while close behind were 24 percent who choose to reserve months in advance. Members who favored reserving days in advance (17%) and hours before arriving (2%) rounded out the top 5 responses.

Where is RoomSaver.com? Keep your eyes peeled for our ad on page 25 of the February/March 2004 issue of AirTran airlines magazine, Arrivals. Arrivals is a bi-monthly publication that reaches an estimated 800,000 business and leisure flyers each month throughout the nation. Also, check out page 12, under 'Web sites for travelers,' where AirTran has referred their readers to RoomSaver.com for our hotel discount coupons search. That is exciting exposure for us!

MARKETING TRENDS?Fill more rooms through e-mail! From www.ideasformarketing.com, author and Net marketing consultant Larry Chase commented, 'Email can be more profitable than a website. Click-through rates for ads appearing in email tend to be noticeably higher than banner ads on websites. Duh! People who have signed up to receive an email newsletter have already taken an action. As you know, this means that they're more likely to take another action. This makes visceral sense, too. A subscriber to a newsletter is more committed than someone who's fallen into your website, doesn't know you from a hole in the wall, and passively browses in and out of your site in an average of two or three clicks.' With that mind, did you also know that RoomSaver.com has a weekly e-newsletter especially for you - our clients?! The e-newsletter is distributed to over 100,000 of our Travel Club members who have elected to receive this newsletter each week. What's New with RoomSaver.com? You may have noticed that RoomSaver.com has a new look! These modifications will allow you to reach more qualified, value-conscious travelers. The recent transformations include a more distinct location for our Featured Advertisers on the Home Page, larger ad objects on the Home Page, a new product, the 'Trip Clip' for our Featured Premium clients, streamlined navigation menus as well as more visible links to advanced search options and travel resources. In summary, here are some of the changes:

  • The Featured Advertisers' listings are now more prominently displayed on the Home Page. This transformation also gives much more exposure for our advertisers located here, as these are the first listings that travelers will see.
  • The ad objects including one banner, four buttons and one sponsorship ad are now clustered together on the right-hand side of the Home Page. Further, the banner and sponsorship ads are larger to ensure maximum exposure.
  • NEW PRODUCT, the 'Trip Clip!' The Trip Clip is our newest product addition, which is a Flash-based animated presentation that displays up to 10 photographs of colorful, dynamic text, photographs and music clips for each hotel's 'theme.'   • The navigation menus include sub-menus that display beneath their respective main menus in red, going across the Home Page. This cleaner navigation will help travelers find hotel deals even more quickly.
  • RoomSaver.com's advanced search options such as the search by ZIP code and Canadian listings as well as travel resources like the Rate Checker, are now broken out into links on the left-hand side adjacent to the U.S. map. As these options and resources are now notably displayed, travelers can more efficiently search for your money-saving hotel coupons.
  • The online hotel listings have green tabs on the bottom right of each listing that stand out more than before. These tabs contain actions for travelers to perform such as viewing your property's Online Brochure, Interactive Map, your property's Web site and more.
